ALL COLOR SIDEWALK
As shared spaces, sidewalks connect different parts of the city and move many people around. These crossings along the streets form a large part of a city. In São Paulo, Brazil and Cairo there are very few lively sidewalks with special conditions for their users. In many cases, sidewalks are too narrow and unprotected. In addition, sometimes, there are barriers to a passage that make it difficult for pedestrians to use the city.
The ALL Colors Sidewalk design team does not view the sidewalk as a cobblestone floor. They see the sidewalk as an environment with the potential to experience moments of the city. There is a lot of urban infrastructure along the sidewalks. These city areas include Beams, billboards, unique urban furniture, trees, and part of the green space. In addition, sidewalks are considered a link between streets and private areas and can be part of the basic landscape of a healthy city. Sidewalks have the potential to create a space with high accessibility and the possibility of walking a pleasant path.
The ALL Colors Sidewalk sidewalk project sought to understand the most applicable concepts on an urban sidewalk. Examples of urban dynamics, accessibility, sustainability solutions, art, urban furniture, and location were among the concepts studied in this project. In general, these concepts are used worldwide to improve and revitalize urban public spaces.
In this project, the most prominent element is a wooden structure that arouses the curiosity of those who pass by. Placement of chairs at different heights, conditions, unique facilities, different views; Gives a clear and transparent color and feeling to the passers-by. At higher levels, the wood material is divided into multifaceted panels that define the passage. The wooden structure used in the design of this sidewalk visually creates an interesting view along the street. As you cross the improved path, the scenery around you looks different and exciting.
Flooring a sidewalk is one of its necessities. In this project, a type of flooring has been selected, in the lower part of which a section has been installed to drain water to return it to the soil. The advantage of this type of flooring, along with the surrounding gardens, is the permeability of water through the soil of the gardens. Part of the drained water irrigates the plants planted in the gardens. The other part is absorbed by the soil. Such measures contribute to standard urban drainage and prevent flooding of streets and sidewalks, which is a common problem in informal and unplanned urban areas.
In the ALL Colors Sidewalk project, the uniformity of the floor, the creation of its texture and the tangible signs and symptoms on it, as well as the attention to how to take care of the proposed materials, were considered issues. The ALL Colors Sidewalk project has signs and symptoms that help blind people orient themselves.
Pedestrian is not the only place to cross; It can also be a place to experience good times. A lively and dynamic sidewalk encourages passers-by to stop. In the ALL Colors Sidewalk project, the concept of the sidewalk as a living room is well applied. A comfortable and comfortable space is provided for people who want to sit. A pleasant atmosphere was created for passers-by to talk, walk, wait and relax on this diverse route. Truly a small living space and life has been created in the middle of a big city!
